NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
LAKE JOSEPH NORTH ASSOCIATION
The annual meeting of members of Lake Joseph North Association, a corporation formed under the laws of the Province of Ontario will be held
On: Saturday August 3rd, at 9 am
At: Gordon Bay Marine Showroom, and by Zoom
To consider the following:
- Review of the minutes of the last year’s annual meeting August 5th, 2023;
- Consideration of the unaudited financial statements of the LJNA for the financial period ending March 31, 2024;
- The election of 8 directors. The following nominees are running for election
- Extraordinary resolution to dispense with an audit and review engagement and to dispense with appointment of an auditor;:
- Transaction of any other business that properly comes before the meeting or any adjournment thereof.
All member families in good standing are entitled to notice of and to attend and vote at the meeting. To attend virtually and vote at the meeting, you will need to register at the Zoom link below.
Your vote is important. If you do not plan to attend the meeting, please complete, date and sign the enclosed proxy form so that your vote can be represented at the meeting
MEMBERSHIP AND VOTING
You can renew your membership before the AGM (by 4pm the day prior please) at https://ljna.org/join-us. Or bring payment to the meeting. Each family in good standing is entitled to one vote at the AGM.
PROXY
For those of you who will not be attending, we ask that you fill out the proxy form and return it to Blair Sinclair at secretary@ljna.org by 4 pm Friday August 2nd. One proxy per family please.
ZOOM MEETING REGISTRATION
Members can join the meeting by Zoom. Participants will be able to hear the presenters and the presentations, ask questions and vote. To attend you must pre-register.

NOTE ON THE NEW FINANCIAL REVIEW REQUIREMENTS
Under the new Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 the requirements for an audit and/or review engagement can be waived by the members of a not-for-profit corporation like ours (a “non-public benefit corporation”) by an Extraordinary Resolution (at least 80% of the votes cast) at a Special Meeting. The motion is to dispense with conducting an audit or review engagement and to dispense with appointing an auditor for the coming year.
